Historical Centre Overijssel, The Netherlands - Constructor Group Archive Reference
The Historical Centre Overijssel wished to improve accessibility of her collection to a wider public. They started the construction of new housing. At the same time the depositories would be refurbished.
The archives of the Historical Centre Overijssel date from the 12th till 20st century. The archive keeps well over 170,000 ancient maps, drawings and photos of Zwolle and other villages in Overijssel, her residents, daily life and historic events.
The solution
The archive, spread over 3 depositories is refurbished with Compactus® mobile shelving combined with Compact shelving. These mobile storage systems were selected as the best solution for accommodating customer’s demands for compact, well organised and accessible storage. The Compactus® systems were placed on an emission free aluminium floor, which fully complies with Dutch archive law for the advancement of conservation of state archives.
